Is Lent a time of punishment or preparation?
Is Lent at time for binding the flesh or building up faith?
And in a culture that refuses to remember death, when we are marked by ashes (“from ashes you came and to ashes you will return”), let us remember that we will die, and that Christ has conquered Death.
